I like to educate patients on their skin condition, on the importance of good skin care, and on sun protection. Duke Dermatology has an amazing team of people to work with, everyone enjoys their job and excels at it. I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families and hope to make their Duke experience a really great one. Duke Dermatology Clinic - Clinic 3K
As a medical and surgical dermatologist, I have over 45 years of experience in helping patients maintain healthy skin. I have special expertise in managing patients with many moles and in the early detection and treatment of skin cancers, such as basal and squamous cell cancers as well as melanoma. To this end, I use a technique called dermoscopy in which a hand-held, illuminated magnifier is used to analyze moles and other skin lesions to help make a diagnosis and to decide if a biopsy might be needed or not. Prior to moving to North Carolina in 2016 to be closer to family, I ran a private dermatology practice in Boca Raton, Florida, which I started in 1979. I was also an affiliate professor in the dermatology department at the University of Miami, where I practiced pediatric dermatology and also ran the pigmented lesion clinic for many years. With every patient visit, my main goal is to help my patients in the safest, least invasive and most straightforward fashion possible. I enjoy talking with my patients and getting to know them. After all, as a patient myself, I value a skilled clinician that is also kind and compassionate.
